Flower power

Our residents in Ellwood Place took part in a lovely flower arranging session this week.

Alison, our full-time activities co-ordinator, provided everyone with bunches of Spring flowers including daffodils, roses, carnations and dahlias.

We saw some beautiful, bright and colourful displays from residents.

Alison said: “It was a lovely afternoon and everyone got creative and made some beautiful flower displays.

“We showed them off in our hand decorated recycled jam jars and then positioned them around the lounge and sun room for everyone to enjoy.

“Flower arranging is a regular monthly activity and I love listening to our residents chatting away while they do it. Handling and smelling the flowers often jogs the memories of their own gardening days.

“They’ve also improved my own flower arranging skills because one of the ladies told me that you need to sort the flowers in clusters of three or five to make the best displays!”
