Exercising with pompoms

Residents of Woodroffe Benton House had a lovely time this week using pompoms as part of a music and movement activity.

A regular activity in our homes, it is a great way to promote coordination and mobility and a fun way for our residents to exercise.

Activity coordinator Hayley Licence said: “Music is a powerful tool and when you combine it with movement, it brings great benefits.

“We use the pompoms to work through a series of activities, including arm and shoulder stretches. Residents stretch and shake the pompoms and it’s a fun way for them to exercise without them really realising it.

“Residents of all abilities get involved and it’s easy to be done sitting down or from a wheelchair. It’s one of our favourite activities.”
