DAY CARE CENTRE
Wonderful News - Day Centre re-opening
We are so happy to welcome back our lovely Day Centre guests on 6th April as we are officially open again, after such a long time closed due to the Covid Pandemic.
The Day Centre was opened 4 years ago as it was highlighted that there was a shortage of social facilities for the elderly to visit during the day. We are based on the lower floor of the large house (Hoyland House) within the lovely grounds of Ifield Park Care Home which has been a successful care home for over 60 years.
The Day Centre is open Monday to Friday, we have a minibus that offers transport within the Crawley area – spaces are limited on the minibus.
Our Day Centre is dementia friendly but not exclusive with professionally trained carers supported by volunteers.
We offer a wide range of activities that our guests enjoy including musical bingo, gentle seated exercise, arts & crafts, puzzles, board games, singing, movies plus many more. Our guests enjoy the interactions and social side of their sessions.
Guests are offered a choice of hot meals to choose from as well as refreshments throughout the day and afternoon tea. A hairdresser visits the home which we can book appointments for Wednesday and Thursday mornings (£11 shampoo & set, £11 cut, £11 wash & blow dry & £37 perm) we also have the use of the services of a chiropodist who visits every 6 weeks and charges £15 a visit.
The mini bus leaves here at 9.30 to collect guests and around 3.30 it starts taking guests home. If guests are being brought in by friends or family they are welcome to arrive around 10am and be picked up by 4pm at the latest.
Our fees are £65 per session – this includes all refreshments, meals, entertainment & activities, personal care, transport – the only additional charges is if the hairdresser or chiropodist is used. We send out a statement monthly & required balances to be paid within 5 days of receipt of the statement.
You do not need a referral to use our Day Centre, I like to meet each of our guests before they start and do a very informal assessment via a chat with them and the family to ensure we are able to support them (sadly, we are unable to support if a person has any extreme physical or verbal behaviours as I need to ensure our other guests feel comfortable and safe and the person needs to be weight bearing)
Depending on the guest’s and family’s needs, many of our guests start 1 session a week (some start on more) and then book more when they are needed / available.
